Trevor Something – The Synthwave Artist To Know
Continuing my series of posts about Synthwave genre, I’d like to cover yet another talented artist who creates amazing music in this style. His name is Trevor Something.
As you might have guessed it is a stage name. For more than 10 years fans have known this name to be synonymous with great synthwave music. And if you haven’t heard about Trevor before, you are in the right place to discover his songs and backstory.
Who is Trevor Something?
Trevor Something is the stage name of Clayton Bullard. For almost a decade he kept his identity hidden from public, creating synth-wave music under that persona. And it’s fair to say that he made a significant mark in the new retro wave scene. He has released 15 albums under Trevor Something alias, becoming well known in the community for both his original music, and great remixes of songs by other artists.
He released his first single “All Night” in September 2013, and his debut LP “Synthetic Love” in early 2014. Over the years Trevor Something kept busy and consistently produced new music. Some of his notable albums: Death Dream (2015), Die With You (2017), and Bots Don’t Cry (2019).

Trevor Something’s Music Style
Trevor Something’s musical style is a blend of synthwave, darkwave, and new wave elements. It’s a modern sound with moody synths and sometimes retro vibes. Despite the nostalgic touch his music feels really fresh. From what I can see Clayton did not want to stay in the same place and was eager to try new stuff throughout his music journey.
What Makes Trevor Something Stand Out
I always liked that Trevor Something not only created his own original music, but also remixed tracks from other famous artists. Remixing famous hits can be risky. Because people already love and know these songs, so if you do a bad version, fans will not hold back and criticize you. Fortunately, Trevor Something has plenty of talent to re-imagine these well-known songs and add his signature synthwave style.
