Soundgarden Best Songs – TOP 10 List
Soundgarden is one of those great bands that I didn’t get into on the first listen — it took me some time to actually discover them properly. Maybe I simply wasn’t ready. But I’m sure glad I eventually did. They’re one of the best and most impressive grunge bands ever.
I’ve picked Soundgarden’s 10 Best Songs from their entire discography for this chart. Of course, you might think other tracks should have made the list – and that’s totally fine. Music is subjective! But I dare you to listen to this playlist and honestly say that any of these songs doesn’t deserve to be in the TOP 10 😎
If you love original music that’s not trying to sell itself – and instead is just a pure form of expression from a group of talented musicians – I bet you’re gonna love Soundgarden. And if you’re a fan of bands like Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, or other grunge artists, you absolutely need to check them out.
Soundgarden Best Songs
So, without further ado, let’s get right to the list. I’ve placed these ten greatest hits in the order I love them — but honestly, even for me, that order changes depending on my mood and vibe. So feel free to shuffle it any way you like. Each song is a masterpiece.
When you have the genius of Chris Cornell writing and his unique vocals, you can’t go wrong. That’s why I also highly recommend you checking his other band Audioslave.

About Soundgarden
Soundgarden was formed in Seattle in 1984. The group quickly became one of the pioneers of the grunge movement. The band shined with the powerful vocals of Chris Cornell, with Kim Thayil on guitar, Ben Shepherd on bass, and Matt Cameron on drums. They created their own sound by blending heavy metal, punk, and noise rock.
They were the first grunge band to sign with a major label (A&M Records), which helped bring the Seattle scene into the mainstream.

Their breakthrough came with the 1994 album Superunknown, featuring iconic tracks like “Black Hole Sun,” “Fell on Black Days” and “Spoonman.” The album shot them into international stardom.
After breaking up in 1997, the band reunited in 2010 and released the King Animal in 2012. Sadly, Chris Cornell passed away in 2017, which marked the end of the band.
