The band holds the record for the most number one singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, with 19, and has sold over 10 million records worldwide.

Shinedown’s music style is influenced by hard rock, alternative metal, post-grunge, and southern rock genres. The band has some of the catchiest melodies in Rock. The kind of music that you can’t stop singing in your head, in a good way of course.

The band’s lyrics often deal with themes such as love, betrayal, inner demons, loss, forgiveness, and hope. The band has also experimented with acoustic genre a lot. Brent Smith and lead guitarist Zach Myers even formed a duo called Smith & Myers.

What makes Shinedown is the immense talent that they bring to what they do. Wonderful songwriting that is accompanied by super good melodic music. The lead singer is always on point and really is one of the best in modern rock scene. And the fact that these guys have been doing this for so many years just proved how good they are.

I personally like the how Shinedown can combine dark themes with beautiful tunes. For me this kinda makes it easier to deal with such heavy themes. It brings a sort of catharsis for the pilled up emotions that we all have.
