Creed Short Biography
Creed is a rock band from Florida. They hit the scene in the late 1990s. The band members are: Scott Stapp as the lead singer, Mark Tremonti on the guitar, Brian Marshall on bass, and Scott Phillips on drums.
Their second album, “Human Clay,” went diamond (that’s 11x platinum!) in the U.S. They sold over 28 million records here and a whopping 53 million worldwide. Their Grammy-winning hit, “With Arms Wide Open,” topped the charts in many countries.
Creed took a break in 2004, reunited in 2009, then went on hiatus again in 2013. But in 2023 they band came together once again, starting a tour with other popular groups like 3 Doors Down, Finger Eleven, Daughtry.

What Makes Creed Great
If you sell millions of albums and have thousands of fans on your concerts – you must be doing something right. But what is about Creed that strikes accord with so many people?
I think it comes down how each member’ talent fits and compliments other teammates in the band. Sometimes a combined effort of talented musicians creates absolutely unique and amazing music. We have seen this countless times. The band makes awesome music, but after they break up, individual songs by former band mates are not as good.
In case of Creed, I believe the main ingredients of their greatness can be narrowed down to Scott Stapp singing ability and Mark Tremonti’s guitar skills. Can you imagine other vocals on Creed best hits like “With Arms Wide Open,” “Higher,” “One Last Breath”? I don’t think so, it would not be Creed anymore.
And same goes for Mark Tremonti. His riffs and solos are one of the most best in modern rock. Just listen to Alter Bridge, where he is also a lead guitarist, if you don’t believe me.
